The 2020 Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open has been postponed.

Whilst it was to be expected, today came the confirmation from the European Tour that the Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club in July has sadly been postponed - with talks ongoing about a rescheduled date.

The event was due to be held at the Renaissance Club from 9-12 July, but has become the latest European Tour event to be called off amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

European Tour chief executive Keith Pelley said the call was taken "with public health the absolute priority".

"Discussions about the possibility of rescheduling this event will continue as we look at a variety of different scenarios for our schedule for when it is safe and permitted to resume playing. We will only announce details of these plans when we have clarity on the global situation.”

Last year, Austrian Bernd Wiesberger (pictured on the 8th tee outside the Villas at Renaissance) triumphed over a field including four-time major winner Rory McIlroy and American stars Rickie Fowler, Matt Kuchar and Justin Thomas to claim his sixth European title.
